Simcenter Femap v2020.1 Release
|
Simcenter Femap software is now being released on a biannual schedule in the Spring and the Fall, which began with version 2019.1 and continues with version 2020.1. The software is now referred to as Simcenter Femap to reflect that it is a part of the Simcenter portfolio of Siemens CAE products. For the same reason, NX Nastran software is now Simcenter Nastran. The latest release provides a variety of improvements that will improve your productivity across the simulation workflow. Model creation enhancements consist of more robust editing of geometric features, ability to align geometric patterns useful for mapped meshing, and improved defeaturing capabilities for fillets and blends. For meshing, existing workflows have been enhanced to allow greater flexibility and more options when creating line elements from the edges of other elements or sweeping elements along an existing mesh. There are also several updates to solver integration for Nastran , including support for Monitor Points and DMIGs, as well as Ansys, Abaqus, and LS-Dyna. #Simcenter #Femap #todaymeetstomorrow

Augmented Reality (AR) in Solid Edge
|
|
This video demonstrates how Solid Edge Augmented Reality allows users to experience true-scale digital prototypes in real-world environments, connecting the digital environment with the physical world. This allows a design to be showcased in its intended environment in a compelling way, even before it is built. The experience can be shared securely via the cloud using the Solid Edge Portal or viewed offline. Bring ideas to life with design visualization.

3D electro-thermal circuit modeling Trace and connection heat dissipation accuracy
|
Learn how to enhance the modeling of heat dissipation from copper trace and connections in electronics thermal management simulations.
Often in 3D thermal simulations, all power is considered dissipated in semiconductor components within the system. However, in systems incorporating power modules, up to 30 percent of power dissipated may be dissipated in trace and mounting connections so thermal influences should be considered. This whitepaper details how to achieve higher accuracy in modeling these influences using test and simulation.
Topics:
- Power dissipation impact and electro-thermal modeling approaches
- Using thermal measurement (Simcenter T3STER) and simulation (Simcenter Flotherm) for accuracy
- An IGBT module 3D based example and further circuit modeling considerations
